Management made a mistake and towed my car. I had to pay $150 to get it back.

I work offshore and was gone for a 2 week stretch. When I came back my car was towed. After I tracked it down, I had to pay $150 to get it back from the impound lot. Apparently what happened was my inspection sticker had expired. The thing is, I have a company vehicle, so I didnt notice the inspection sticker was expired because I dont drive it that often.
The manager did put a notice on my car enforming me that it was going to be towed, but since I was offshore I never saw the notice. The manager even said they tried to search for my license plate number in their database, but they wrote the number down wrong, so couldnt find my phone number to contact me.
I explained the situation to the manager and she said she felt bad about everything. But they werent going to give me a dime because theres a clause in the lease that says the apartment can tow any car on the property without any warning! The lady in the office seems pretty nice and I like staying at the apartments, but I have little respect for the managers judgement.
I would not recommend staying here if you work offshore or have to travel frequently, because there is a definite possibility you may come back and find your car is gone!
