Awesome personal service! "Bill" was
the sweetest man. We were there shopping for a special highschool graduation ring for my daughter, and he took so much time with her. He made her feel very special, and he had a great idea for the ring. He seemed to know exactly what she wanted! What a lovely experience for my baby and I to share! Thanks to everyone there. They were all very friendly and eager to help...not just to us, but to everyone I saw walk through the door. :)
I recommend this jeweler to everyone!
Avoid Nacol's Jewelry like the plague! They are incredibly rude (I spent 20K on a ring- I think I deserve some common decency respect). Their workmanship is also below par- I've had 4 diamonds fall out in less than a year. You have been warned!
F-bombs dropped all over the place. I am something of a diamond junkie, and have done alot of research, but when I went into WmSNacol Bill Jr. "corrected" everything I said about jewelry, saying I was wrong, wrong, wrong. He was trying to dominate me and make me thing he was the god of jewelry. Whatever, that aside, I looked around the store but couldn't help overhearing a blond worker there going on and on about how people think she's "f*cking stupid". She started quasi yelling at about she had done this or that, and it was Bill's fault. Strange, this animosity between the two of them made me feel she must be his wife. Later, as I was preparing to leave Bill went into the back and I distinctly heard his start cussing out the blonde, loud enough that everyone in the store must have been able to hear him. It was so embarassing! I felt so bad for the girl, he was going on "you f*cking stupid this and that" it was unbelievable! I give them 1 star just because 0 is not an option.
Treated like a second class citizen. I went in a while back to look at rings. I wanted a diamond right hand ring and found one that I loved, but it was over my budget. I put it on layaway anyway and after making two months of payments, I realized that I just could not spend that kind of money. I went back in and told them that I did not want the ring. Boy, did attitudes change! With the down payment and two months payments, they had $175 of my money. While the sales person (didn't get her name) went in a back office, I went look around for something closer to my budget. That's when Nacol Jr. came out and asked me if I needed anything else. I told him that I was looking for something in my budget. He told me that I should probably try a pawn shop or Goodwill! Before I could respond, a woman (presuming it was his wife) came out and handed me a check for $75. She said they were charging me a $100 restocking fee. I asked to see the layaway contract again and she told me that I could not. Before I could argue, I was told to leave the store. I was completely embarrassed. They made me feel like I did something wrong.
Best prices and quality of jewelry in Lafayette.. Nacol's Jewelry Store is the only place that I reccomend if you are anywhere around South Louisiana. I have purchased everything for my wife from them for years now. Even after a move from Lafayette to New Orleans My opinion was that the price and service was well worth the 130 mile drive to Lafayette. We have had great satisfaction with the pieces that we purchased, and the service after the sale has been wonderful. Also take note that they have done some mild custom work for us where we have made changes to pieces and were able to choose the stones to go into the piece. My favorite gift to my wife was a 13 stone saphire bracelet that Bill let me pick the stones. It starts with a very light color yellow then each stone matches just slightly darker orange to red to blues to purples. I have never been to another jewelry store that has given me the personal service that Nacol's has offered.
Terrible customer service from Bill Nacol, Jr..
If you like being yelled at and told you are rude by management because they can't seem to fix work that they have done personally, go to William S. Nacol Jewelry Store in Laf. and talk to Bill Nacol, Jr.!!!
My sister purchased a $3000.00 engagement ring from the store. The ring was brought back twice before they fixed a minor problem but insisted it looked fine.
For Christmas 2006 she purchased two diamond wedding bands to go on each side of the ring. They had to put the rings together to make one ring and had to bend the bands on each side to fit the shape of her engagement ring. They did three sides correctly but one side was bent down. It was very noticeable. One of the small diamonds was also missing once again. As we walked in the store an elderly lady greeted us. When she realized that we were bringing a ring back she became rude and insisted that when they cut rings they would do it a different way. We corrected her since Bill Nacol, Jr. personally did the work.
We waited to speak to him personally. When my sister asked if he remembered her he replied bluntly NO! As my sister explained what was wrong, he insisted that the ring looked fine and that he liked the messed up side better. He said he would try to fix it. I asked what would happen if he couldn't fix it. He said "I don't know, what do you think should happen?" He said, "Do you want the rings off then?" My sister said no that she wanted it fixed right. As he was walking off, I said so you are going to replace her little diamond, fix the yellow looking patch between the three rings, and but before I could say bend the ring back, he shouted out in the crowed store "DIDN'T I ALREADY SAY THAT? DO YOU THINK I'M STUPID? DO YOU NEED TO REPEAT EVERYTHING I SAY?" At the counter he slammed his down and said "GOD D___ YOU ARE RUDE!" Everyone in the store stopped and looked at him.
If this is the kind of service you want from an expensive jeweler go speak to Bill Nacol, Jr.!
