1st time my fault 2nd time theirs – First time I had gone there to look for my wedding dress. They were very rude to me and would not help me. To my surprise I found one that I liked. They would not help me pick out dress nor would they help me put the ball gown dress on. During check out the girl rolled her eyes at me non stop. Thankfully my friend was there to keep me calm and to help me. Second time I brought my friend there to get her bridesmaid dress for another wedding. It was two days before the wedding and her dress was not even in. She had paid for it, but they never ordered it. She even had a receipt to prove her purchase. Needless to say she did not have her dress in time (none of the bridesmaids did for that wedding) and they refused to give her or any of the bridesmaids their money back. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE NOT EVEN TO MY WORST ENEMY!!!!!!
NEVER AGAIN – I have read many of negative reviews for Charisma, but decided I was going to give them a shot and ordered my bridesmaids, mother of the bride, mother of the groom and flower girl dresses from there. When I first went in there was a girl helping me that was wonderful! She was extrememly helpful and anytime I would call to check on my dresses she was wonderful. So I thought, ok so these other people may have just been unlucky. Well....that girl quit or got fired and that is when the trouble started. I called to check on my flower girl dress because I was having pictures taken and wanted my flower girl in them. It was very close to the estimated time the dress was supposed to come in and I wanted to see if by some miracle it would be in for the pics. I asked very nicely if they could call and ask the company if it had been shipped yet and they said that was not possible. It was going to be here on the estimated ship date and that was all they knew. Well, I know for a fact they can call and check with the company because they did for a friend of mine a few weeks prior. They kept me on hold for 15 minutes and I spoke to 3 different girls before one came on and said she would see what she could do and would call me right back. 2 days later I still never heard from her so I called again . She acted like she never had talked to me the first time and said she could not call and get a date. I asked to speak to a manager and magically she was able to call the company and get the ship date for me in a matter of 5 minutes!! Then, my mother's dress had an estimated arrival date of April 16th. Of course when we called on the 17th it was not in, but they had a shipment coming in at 4 that afternoon and she was sure it was on that order. So we call next day and wrong...was not on that order, but maybe the one today at 4. This went on all week and come the following Monday (April 23), my mom went in and raised hell because my wedding is in 2 weeks and she still did not have a dress! After 3 people tried helping her and she sat there for 30 minutes, magically her dress appeared from the back!!!!! On the receipt it showed that it had been there since the end of January!!!!!! And nobody ever felt the need to call or check on the dress until she went in a raised hell. I gave this place the benefit of the doubt and I regret it ! I will never buy anything from these people! The service was by far the worst i have ever received. There is so much time and money put into a wedding and Charisma is just not concerned what so ever about your wedding day. They were so quick to blame the poor girl who is no longer there and made sure to tell me that Rachel Pitre was the cause of all of the problems with my dresses. Well, that is funny that she was the only one that gave me any kind of service the many times I have been in that store in the last 9 months! So who is to blame for all of the terrible service with the current employees???
Horrible service – This doesn't even get one star. I've been several times and not one time was I happy with their service. I went recently and had 4 people help me. not because I asked for different people...it was simply because they left to go help someone else...and vice versa. the seamstress left a bride to tend to me. Makes no sense and horrible service. My dress was a bit tight on the hips and the consultant insisted that i prance around the main floor in a too-tight dress, which mortified me. I asked for the seamstress to come into the room and was denied. the simple alterations were going to cost EIGHTY DOLLARS. I received another quote for under half of that at another place. Not to mention they required me to pay before the alterations took place which is ridiculous. Jason is so disrespectful with his "Yes, my baby. Oh, no my love! Of course, booboo." Most annoying staff ever. Not to mention half of them dress like street walkers. NEVER GOING AGAIN. I've had enough of them. And also, I didn't smell anything, but the place is a train wreck that is disorganized and filthy. Skylar's mom needs to get out more.
Charisma is BY FAR the best place we've shopped for formals – I must admit, I'm a bit shocked by the post below mine "Worst Bridal Store EVER!!!!"
I've used this shop since I was in high school. Now I have a 16 year old and I've purchased 6 STUNNING formals from them in the past 2 years; and we are going back tomorrow to purchase her first prom dress.
I cannot speak for the rest of the staff there, but the owner of the shop and JASON DUGAS were VERY attentive to my daughter (and the store was packed at the time). They listened to what she was looking for and then Jason, being his awesome self, started pulling every dress he thought would look good on her. He helped her get into each dress, he even put her on the peta stool with the fan blowing on her to make her feel like she was in a photo shoot. I've NEVER had so much fun shopping for formals before. We look forward to doing this 3-4 times a year until my daughter graduates.
Furthermore, "the dirtiest, smelliest bridal store" doesn't ring true for me either. It was clean, organized and it didn't smell like anything in there, and again, I've been shopping there 4 times a year for 2 years now.
I am sorry that "Acediva" didn't enjoy her time there, but I stand by this place 2000% and as I said, NO OTHER BRIDAL STORE WILL EVER GET MY MONEY AGAIN...Charisma is an awesome place with an awesome staff.
Worst Bridal Store EVER!!!!!!! – Chrisma is the dirtiest, smelliest bridal store I have ever been in. The customer service is horrible...My so called Bridal consultant "Rachel" was one of the worst I have ever encountered. No one in the store acknowledges you when you walk in, Rachel was eating a biscuit at the counter when I walked in and continued to do so as I stood there waiting for her to ask me what I needed...I'm sure your wondering why did you even stay????? Well I had finally found my dream wedding gown and the ONLY bridal store that carried the designer in Lafayette, La was Dirty Charisma!!! The next closest was in Eunice, La....if I would have known then what I know now...I would have drove to Eunice....I go to pick up my gown...once again standing at the counter waiting for someone anyone to acknowledge me....My so called bridal consultant walks pass me two or three times and does not say a word...finally someone comes to help me. She brings out my gown, hangs it on the hook and is about to walk off...I had to ask her if someone was going to help me try it on...she then calls a litte girl who looks all of 16 yrs old to help me try on my dress...the little girl has an attitude all over her face..like she is not at her job....The little girl helps me into my dress and walks away....NO ONE comes to look at me in the dress...give me their "expert" opinion on if the dress needs alterations...NO ONE pays any attention to me as if none of their unprofessional butts will be getting a commission for this dress that was just sold....I take the dress off...walk to the counter again to inform them, that the bridesmaid card I had filled out, they could discard of it, bc I most certainly would not put my bridesmaids through this madness with these unprofessional people in this dirty stinky place...BEWARE DO NOT EVER GO INTO THIS STORE LOOK FOR ANOTHER PLEASE....IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO HAVE A BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE LOOKNG FOR, FINDING AND GETTING YOUR WEDDING GOWN....I was sooo upset and disappointed in my Bridal gown experience at this place...They need to clean the store, turn the AC on and last but certainly not least hire decent employees.....
A "TRAIN WRECK" OF AN EXPERIENCE. – 3 of the bridesmaid ordered our bridesmaids dresses from Charisma in April. 2 of the other bridesmaids had not placed their order. I went in on June 1 to see if our dresses had come in. The told me no, because they were waiting on the other bridesmaids to place their order. We were initially told the dresses would be ordered as each individual bridesmaid came into place their orders. (Now the story changed to they were placing a group order) However since they had not placed the order as of the June 1. We were going to have to incur a rush fee of an additional $40 since the wedding is in August. Now a dress that started out at $160 with tax was now costing us $200. My measurements stated that the dress should have been a size 12 instead an 8 was orderd. They inturn had to rush order another dress for me which was now 2 sizes to big. Now this dress needs to altered. Although this ordering mess is their fault they were trying to pass on the alteration fee to me. The mother of the groom dress was too big, she had to go to Lindas across the street to have her dress altered at a cost of $80 making her $300 dress now $380. She was told that their alteration lady would be available however when her dress came the lady was on vacation. This experience was a nightmare. We have concluded that this is the last time that we will EVER buy anything with Charisma again.
