A Lafayette Institution. Walk into Dwyers at lunch and you will get to see a cross section of Lafayette. Doctors, Lawyers, college students, and laborers all go here. This is a family run operation and they take pride in their food and keeping their customers happy. The staff is friendly and regulars are welcomed by name. You really feel like they appreciate your patronage. The food is good old cajun style home cooking at its best! When you get your food it is heaped on your plates with servings that are huge considering the reasonable price. The last time I visited they were undergoing a needed expansion and I also hear they are planning on opening at nights instead of just for breakfast and lunch - HOORAY!! The ONLY drawback about going to Dwyers is the parking which is tight everywhere in downtown Lafayette.
(better than) Home cooking!. Wonderful mom and pop diner. The food was delicious and a good variety was available from a simple menu. The coffee alone was worth finding the place. Great portions and take out and phone orders are also done. You are able to savor the food and the company because the service is wonderful and you are not rushed. Wonderful start to every day on our trip, and if I ever go back to Laffayette Dwyer's is a must.
